If you were going to have an architect do just one design phase, schematic design would be the phase that would have the biggest impact on the project. On a few projects I have provided only this initial phase of the design work in an effort to save money. This has worked well on a couple of new houses where the schematic design was handed over to a draftsperson or a drafting service, and they completed the construction drawings. - Partial Documents
Maybe you have already come up with a design that you are happy with and just would like some help tweaking things and getting a minimum set of drawings completed in order to get a building permit. I’m happy to work with you to figure out which drawings are needed and complete those drawings. - Design Consultation
Perhaps you are working with a contractor on a design and are not completely satisfied with the results. I can work with you and the contractor to tweak and refine the design. - Site Selection Consultation
If you are looking at a building lot or a piece of land and would like some advice on how suitable it might be for your new house, I would be happy to look at the site for you. This work can range from just a two hour site visit to a bit more time researching zoning regulations and quickly sketching up a basic site plan to see how well a house might fit on the site. - Remodeling Feasibility Consultation
Perhaps you are considering the option of either adding onto your current house or moving to a larger one. I can advise you on the feasibility of remodeling or adding onto your current home. Some types and configurations of house are much harder to remodel than others.
